Its corporate style is becoming a hallmark of famous public buildings, private apartments in Kazakhstan and far beyond, in the list of customers wealthy and high-ranking individuals, and projects win international recognition at numerous prestigious international competitions. We will tell in detail about the biography, career and achievements of the talented designer Svetlana Antonovich (Svitlana Antonovych).

    — What was your childhood like and how did you choose your profession?

    — I was born on August 3, 1991 in Ukraine, in Kiev. My father, Andrei Antonovych, is the lead architect of Antonovych Design. Mom Yelena Antonovich is an interior designer, public figure, chairman of the board of the Association of Business Women of Kazakhstan. My own sister, Katerina Antonovich, is also a professional interior designer.

You could say, thanks to the example of my family and my own vocation of the soul, the choice of the field of activity for me was clear at an early age. His innate curiosity, attention to detail, persistence and perseverance stimulated him to push the boundaries of his usual perception of space.

I was able to notice the seemingly unnoticeable details and marvel at the beauty of the world around me, focusing my attention on the play of light, the combination of shades and the variety of textures.

A few years later I went to a school with advanced English and Spanish language classes in Boryspil, not far from Kiev. Because of my openness to new knowledge, I studied easily and in the same breath.

Then there was the Kiev College of Construction, Architecture and Design, which I graduated from in 2009 with a degree in architecture.
In 2013 — Faculty of Architecture, Construction and Design at Kiev National Aviation University.

The Faculty of Architecture helped me to develop my spatial thinking, allowed me to believe in the limitless possibilities of design and awakened a great love for my work. I immediately began to hone my skills in practice, at which point the Antonovich family already owned their own design studio in Kiev.

    — Tell us about your family and your children.
    — In 2010 I married Dmitriy Korotchuk, a qualified real estate and construction specialist and founder of Antonovich Home.
    We have a daughter, Solomy.

From that moment another important talent of mine unfolded — the ability to brilliantly combine my career and family concerns, which obviously only stimulated a dynamic leap in development. After all, it is the family that has become the best source of strength, inspiration and motivation, which I often and unobtrusively mention in my social media.

    — How did your career develop?

    — The business scaled up, developed, and at some point the geography of orders began to go beyond Ukraine, making Kazakhstan a priority. This was the starting point for our family to move to the industrial and cultural center of Kazakhstan, Astana, in 2015. The Luxury Antonovich Design studio opened here, which has become my faithful assistant in the realization of bold design ideas. As a result of rebranding, the company name was changed to Antonovych Design.

Thanks to the build-up of close partnerships with well-known Italian furniture factories, in 2017, my husband Dmitry Korotchuk and I launched our new project — a multi-brand center of Italian furniture in Astana, Antonovich Home. This is a unique gallery, which shows not just individual pieces of furniture, but ready-made interior solutions, maximizing the capabilities of the traditions of made in Italy.

Later on the list of projects was enlarged by the monobrand showroom Poliform Astana, offering the products of international Italian factory, presented on 5 continents in 85 countries. And also in 2022 there was an exposition of the respectable brand Versace Home.

    — What is «Antonovich Style» and how is it revealed in your design projects?

    — They say my inspiration is infectious, my talent is endless, and my ideas are uniquely beautiful and functional. I just can’t stop learning and experiencing new dimensions of my capabilities.

This allows you to implement non-standard solutions and create individual spaces in an exclusive style that remains relevant timeless. My interiors demonstrate not only visual aesthetics, they express the world-view of the homeowner, his inner world and lifestyle. They are the culmination of the designer’s painstaking work, carefully considered details and a deep understanding of the customer’s needs.

I implement projects in different styles: from classical, neoclassical to art deco: design of public buildings and private apartments, hotels, SPAs, boutiques, villas and mansions. I was also lucky enough to be involved in the design of residences, such as the Presidential Palace in Astana.

As a result, the term «Antonovich Style» has taken root among some designers for its unique and recognizable handwriting that has won recognition on the international stage.

    — Tell us more about international recognition and awards

The esteemed awards recognize the highest level of achievement of companies operating in all sectors of real estate, which are celebrated in Arabia, Europe, Africa, Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean, the United States, the United Kingdom and Asia-Pacific.

The official European Property Awards 2022-2023 were celebrated on October 28, 2022 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London and were judged by an independent panel of more than 80 experts.

This Oscar was a source of pride for us and a generous portion of motivation to continue doing what we love with even more enthusiasm and commitment to beautifying the world.

    — Svetlana Antonovich today: who is she?

    — Today I successfully carry out design projects around the world, conduct interior design workshops and charity seminars, and my work is featured in various magazines about fashion trends and premium interior design. In my workshops, I try to convey the value of design thinking.

That is, the need to not just create an interior with deliberate pomp and flashy finishes for VIP-clients, but to design solutions filled with harmony and comfort. And also about how the visual perception of design can influence human emotions and give meaning to the surrounding space.

After all, if you dig a little deeper into history, we see that in the process of decorating the interiors of those times, experts were often guided by bionics — the science of the relationship between nature and civilization. A system of measurements related to the human body, its biorhythms and natural proportions was used instead of the centimeters and millimeters that we are accustomed to. This allowed for the creation of harmonious spaces of perception. That is why we so admire the atmosphere of ancient buildings with their refinement and special sense of rhythm.

I also occupy an active social position, providing charitable support to the Pugachevsky orphanage for children with psychoneurological disorders in the Zhitomir region, Ukraine.

Svetlana admires the versatility of her talent and the continuous desire to grow as a person. In each of her projects, she puts her heart and soul into making her dreams of comfortable surroundings a reality and confirms the truth: to be successful, you have to do what you love.
